Updates the data of an existing payment and returns the summary data after the change.

Use this operation when your integration needs to modify a payment without receiving the full object returned by the standard route. Endpoints with summary data have a lighter payload and respond faster than the standard payment endpoints.

In general, updates are allowed while the payment is awaiting payment or overdue. The customer linked to the payment cannot be changed after creation.

Updating split has exceptions after the payment is confirmed, including in scenarios where it is blocked due to a discrepancy. See the rules in Update existing payment.
