Get started with Subscriptions

Subscriptions let you generate recurring payments for the same customer according to a defined frequency.

Asaas creates new payments throughout the recurrence. Each payment has its own ID, status, and financial cycle.

When to use

Use Subscriptions when your integration needs to:

• generate payments periodically for the same customer;
• use bank slip (boleto), Pix, or credit card;
• define the recurrence frequency;
• let Asaas be responsible for generating the next payments.

Choose the right model

Subscriptions and installment plans are not the same flow. In an installment plan, the installments belong to a single operation. In a subscription, new payments are generated throughout the recurrence.

Before you start

Define:

• the customer who will be charged;
• the payment method;
• the amount;
• the frequency;
• the first due date.

Register the customer before creating the subscription and store their ID.

How it works

After you create the subscription, Asaas generates new payments according to the configured recurrence.

Future payments are not all created at once. Each payment is generated according to the recurrence rules and must be tracked individually.

Track the payments

Creating the subscription does not confirm receipt.

Track the generated payments and their respective statuses via Webhook. The payment object reports the originating subscription in the subscription field.
