⚙️ Asaas + Shopify Integration

This document brings together configuration guidelines, frequently asked questions, and expected behaviors of the integration between Asaas and Shopify, serving as a reference for technical support and proper use of the solution.

Configurations to be completed after installation:

1. After installation, the “contact method” must be changed to email only.

For proper credit card payment processing, Asaas requires that the customer contact method be exclusively via email:

✅ The store must be configured as follows:

  • Settings > Checkout > Customer contact method
  • Select “Email” only

2. Environment: Production vs Sandbox

During the initial configuration of the Asaas plugin in Shopify, it is mandatory to provide the Production API key. The Sandbox key is optional and may be provided if the customer wishes to run tests.

For transactions to be processed in the test environment, it is necessary to enable “Test Mode” in the payment settings. The configuration path is:

a. Settings > Payments > Credit Card > Manage
b. Enable the Test Mode flag

📌 Behavior:

  • Test Mode disabled → transactions use the Production key
  • Test Mode enabled → transactions use the Sandbox key
