⚙️ Asaas + Shopify Integration

This document brings together configuration guidelines, frequently asked questions, and expected behaviors of the integration between Asaas and Shopify, serving as a reference for technical support and proper use of the solution.

Settings to be performed after installation

1. After installation, it is necessary to change the "contact method" only to email.

For the correct operation of payment with Credit Card, Asaas requires the customer contact to be exclusively by email.


✅ The store must be configured as follows:

  • Settings > Checkout > Customer contact method
  • Select only "Email"

This setting is mandatory for the correct operation of Credit Card payments. If another contact method is enabled, inconsistencies may occur during checkout, preventing the transaction from being processed correctly.


2. Environment: Production x Sandbox

During the initial configuration of the Asaas plugin on Shopify, it is mandatory to enter the Production key. The Sandbox key is optional and may be entered if the customer wants to run tests.

For transactions to be processed in the test environment, it is necessary to enable "Test mode" in the payment settings.

The configuration path is:

a. Settings > Payments > Credit Card > Manage
b. Enable the Test mode flag

📌 Behavior:

  • Test mode disabled → transactions use the Production key.
  • Test mode enabled → transactions use the Sandbox key.

Operational impacts

The settings on this page directly impact the operation of the Asaas Apps on Shopify.

Before making the store available in production, validate that all settings have been performed correctly.

  • If the store does not use only Email as the customer contact method, Credit Card payments may present inconsistencies during checkout.
  • If the Production key is not entered correctly, real transactions will not be processed.
  • If Test mode is enabled using only the Production key, or disabled without a valid key existing for the corresponding environment, transaction processing failures may occur.
  • Before starting the store operation, it is recommended to make a test purchase to validate the behavior of the configured environment.
