FAQ Evaluation Period
How does the evaluation period work?
The evaluation period is an automatic and controlled period that allows new API customers to create subaccounts for third parties. It starts automatically when the parent account creates its first subaccount in production and ends when either the 60-day deadline is reached or an operational limit is hit. After it ends, operations are blocked until regulatory homologation is completed.
What are the operational limits during the evaluation period?
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum subaccounts | 10 subaccounts per parent account |
| Maximum payment per subaccount | R$2,000.00 (payments + subscriptions combined) |
| Maximum duration | 60 days from the first subaccount creation |
What happens when a limit is reached?
- New subaccounts cannot be created.
- Subaccounts that have reached R$2,000.00 cannot issue new payments.
- Existing subscriptions are automatically cancelled.
- Payment links are deactivated for the blocked subaccount.
- The subaccount can still receive payments before the block.
How is the payments limit calculated?
- The limit is per subaccount, not per parent account.
- Payments deleted before payment restore the limit.
- Refunded payment do not restore the limit.
What happens with split payments to subaccounts that have reached the limit?
If a parent account tries to send a split payment, Pix, or internal transfer to a subaccount that has reached its financial limit or expired, the request is blocked with an error indicating the subaccount is not eligible to receive funds.
Does the evaluation period block access to funds?
No. The balance remains accessible and withdrawals can be made normally, even after the evaluation period ends or a limit is reached.
How does the evaluation period behave in Sandbox?
The evaluation period is enabled by default in Sandbox as well. However, it can be disabled in the settings panel for development and testing purposes. Subaccounts created in Sandbox cannot be replicated to production. In production, regulatory homologation is mandatory.
How to continue operating after the evaluation period?
Complete the regulatory homologation process with Asaas. The request can be made at any time during the evaluation period — there is no need to wait for a block to occur. After approval, all limits are removed and operations resume normally.
