Bill Payment

Bill Payment lets you integrate boleto payments into your system using the available balance in your Asaas account.

This section brings together the content needed to implement the feature, define when the payment will be processed, track its status, and handle failures.

Before implementing

Consider these points when defining the flow:

  • the account must have completed proof of life;
  • the boleto is identified by its digitable line;
  • the payment can be made on the same day or scheduled, according to the applicable rules;
  • processing times and conditions vary according to the type and amount of the boleto;
  • processing has intermediate states and should preferably be tracked via Webhooks;
  • Sandbox has its own behavior for testing and does not perform real financial clearing.

Operational rules for times and processing may change. Check the specific pages of this guide before implementing hard-coded validations in your application.

Track processing via Webhooks

The payment may go through different states after it is created.

Use the Bill Payment Events to update your application when processing changes occur.

Prefer Webhooks over periodic API queries. Use GET queries when you need to retrieve the current state of an operation on demand or check the history.

Product operational rules

Cutoff times and processing conditions depend on the type and amount of the boleto.

The technical documentation details how these scenarios should be handled in the integration. To also check the product's current operational rules, visit the Bill Payment Help Center.
